Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Can I get a price list?

Because there are so many item combinations, it is nearly impossible to publish a complete price list.  Current pricing can be found on the individual item pages.

Q - Can the image be peeled or scratched off?

No. After printing, the image you see has been manufactured to become a permanent part of the laminate material and is actually below a clear-coat layer.

Q - What is the normal length of time to ship an item?

Once your order is placed and all artwork is approved a general rule of thumb is 6 to 8 weeks.  Very often we ship faster than that but we can't guarantee it.

Q - Can I cancel an order after it's placed?

Once you have approved the artwork and placed an order, it cannot be cancelled without forfeiting a portion of the total order amount, usually 50% plus any set-up and applicable fees.  Orders cancelled 2 weeks or later after order placement will be charged the entire order amount plus set-up fees.

Q - How do we pay for our order?

With credit approval, we do accept purchase orders with Net 10 Day terms.  If you prefer, we also accept all major credit cards, with all credit card information provided with an order.  You could also prepay with a check but we will not proceed with an order until the check has been cleared by our bank.

Q - Can you print my favorite sports team, beer label, etc?

Generally no, we can't.  Most companies and sports organizations require a licensing agreement and an approval process, which Built-Rite does not have.  If you have received permission by an organization or brand that you do not own it is still possible to print the images you provide us.  Simply print and sign our indemnification agreement stating that you either own, control or have permission to print the image you are requesting and submit the signed copy to us with your order.

Q - What exactly is high-pressure laminate?

HPL is composed of layers of kraft paper, a single layer of decorative paper with a solid color or design, and finished with a protective layer that can have printed design accents or other decorative features.  It is considered to be one of the most durable decorative surface materials and is available with special performance properties including chemical, fire and wear resistance.  Very simply put, HLP is usually the material used on most kitchen counter tops.

Q - What if I have a question that isn't answered here?

Just contact us and ask your question.  Not only will we answer it but we'll also try to get it posted here to help others that may have the same question.

Q - How difficult is it to assemble the items?

Many items will ship to you assembled, those that aren't can be put together with simple tools, such as an adjustable wrench and powered screwdriver.  The items that do require assembly will usually take about 10 or 15 minutes.

Q - Are there minimum order quantities?

Nope, you can order one or 100 of the same image or you can order 4 items, each with a different image.  The only difference is how the set-up fee will apply.

Q - Are quantity discounts available?

In some instances of purchasing larger items we might be able to offer discounts but for smaller items, such as table tops, we cannot.  We purchase the raw printed materials in large sheets and we need to print 16 sheets of the same image before we get even a small discount from our supplier.  But if you are considering the purchase of several items, let us know and we'll see if there's any way we can make it a little easier on your budget.

Q - What type of artwork do you require?

We work with Adobe Illustrator so vector images in a .ai format (or .eps generated from AI) are the easiest to work with.  But we can utilize other file types and even photo images are printable.  Images in .jpeg format need to have a resolution of only 150 dpi at actual print size for best printing results.

Q - How should I send my artwork to Built-Rite?

You can email the art to us (see the "Contact Us" page) or click the link at the bottom of this page to upload your artwork to us.  Please note that you will be taken to our logotables.com site (opened in a separate window) to upload your art.  If you have a large file you can also upload that to your file sharing app and send us the link to retrieve it.

Q - Can I use my printed items outside?

The printed material itself will not absorb water but the particle board under it certainly can.  The more exposure to outside elements the greater the likelihood of your item absorbing moisture.  Many of our table tops are used in a bar or restaurant setting where liquid can be spilled on them.  As long as you wipe up the spill as soon as possible there shouldn't be a problem.  For instance, a Spirit Station used outside in a pouring rain storm uncovered is not suggested but one used under a simple portable shelter will probably be just fine.

Q - Do you make only custom printed laminate items?

Not at all.  Any item that uses custom printed laminate can also be made using a standard "off-the-shelf" laminate.  Just contact us with any specific questions and we'll do what we can to help you out and provide you a quotation.
